- Prepare and cook food according to the restaurant's recipes and specifications.
- Maintain the restaurant's quality and presentation standards.
- Assist in the integration and training of new culinary talents.
- Keep work areas and kitchen tools clean and organized.
- Collaborate with other members of the kitchen team to ensure the efficiency and overall success of the restaurant.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards.
- Stay up to date with culinary trends and cooking techniques to improve and develop new recipes and dishes.
- Ensure that orders are prepared correctly and served on time.
Main Responsibilities, Required Knowledge and Skills
- Previous experience cooking in a restaurant or similar kitchen setting.
- Speed and efficiency- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure, performing their job effectively.
- Initiative- Provide recommendations and best practices to your supervisor.
- Companionship- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other restaurant staff members.
- Flexibility- to work on rotating schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Customer service: Seek customer satisfaction both in the products ordered and in effective communication.
- Cleaning: Keep the work area clean and assist the team in general (mopping, sweeping, mapping, among others). Knowledge of hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to receive and follow detailed instructions.
- Interpersonal relationships: You need to adapt to the different personalities of customers, suppliers, and coworkers without losing focus.
- Performing general physical activities: You must occasionally perform physical activities in a variety of environmental conditions that require moderate to maximum strength, such as lifting, walking, and manipulating materials.
- Diplomacy- Empathy and courtesy in dealing with customers and co-workers.
- Image- Neat and discreet (good personal hygiene habits) and uniformed at all times.
- Organization- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at the same time.
- Integrity- Oriented to work in accordance with the company's Personnel Standards and Conduct Manual.
